Forklift Driver

About the role

Hume Doors & Timber is seeking a Forklift Driver to join our warehouse operations team in Dandenong South, Victoria. This is a casual position playing a crucial role in our warehousing, storage and distribution operations. As a Forklift Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and material handling equipment to move, stack and store products throughout our facility. This position is essential to ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods within our warehouse and supports our broader objective of maintaining reliable supply chain operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, load and unload materials and products throughout the warehouse

• Stack and store goods in appropriate locations following warehouse organisation systems and safety protocols

• Perform routine maintenance checks on forklift equipment and report any mechanical issues or damage promptly

• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, company policies and warehouse procedures

• Assist with general warehouse housekeeping and organisation to maintain a safe working environment

• Support other warehouse team members and contribute to meeting daily operational targets

• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient warehouse operations

What we're looking for

• Current and valid Forklift License or equivalent certification for your state

• Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment

• Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures specific to warehouse operations and equipment use

• Ability to work safely and follow all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment

• Physical fitness and capability to perform manual handling tasks and operate equipment for extended periods

• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a warehouse team

• Reliable and punctual

• Experience with warehouse management systems or inventory software (preferred)
