We are seeking an experienced Forklift Loader/Unloader with a strong background in food-grade product handling, hazmat loading, documentation, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities Report to work at Granite City, IL M-F 7:00am – 3:30pm

• Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to load and unload trailers, containers, and warehouse storage areas.

• Perform food-grade loading and unloading in accordance with company and regulatory standards to prevent contamination.

• Handle hazardous materials (HAZMAT) in compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company guidelines.

• Accurately complete and verify all required documentation, including:

• Bill of lading (BOL)

• Lot numbers

• Product ID and quantity verification

• HAZMAT paperwork

• Shipping/receiving records

• Inspect trailers, pallets, and packaging for damage or contamination.

• Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures, PPE requirements, and warehouse best practices.

• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report issues promptly.

• Communicate effectively with shipping, receiving, and quality teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment.

• Assist with inventory counts and rotation as required.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse or distribution center.
• Experience working with food-grade products and understanding of sanitation requirements.
• Proven HAZMAT handling and documentation experience (certification preferred).
• Strong attention to detail, especially with lot numbers, product tracking, and paperwork accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and safety data sheets (SDS).
• Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and OSHA regulations.
• High school degree, or equivalent
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must be able to pass a drug test to operate heavy machinery
• Must be able to pass a respirator fitness test and maintain that fitness
• Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and work in environments where food-grade and chemical products are handled
• Maintain valid driver’s license
• Cannot be legally blind
