Forklift Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials and products within the facility. This role is crucial in ensuring that all shipping and receiving processes run smoothly, contributing to overall warehouse productivity.

Duties

• Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Perform order picking using RF scanners to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
• Manage materials handling tasks, including moving products throughout the warehouse and staging items for shipping.
• Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and maintain safety protocols.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines at all times.
• Engage in heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse distribution or similar roles is preferred.
• Proficient in operating forklifts, cranes, and other heavy equipment with a strong understanding of materials handling practices.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is an advantage.
• Mechanical knowledge related to equipment operation and maintenance is beneficial.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks (up to 50 pounds) as needed throughout the shift.
• Experience with order picking processes and shipping & receiving operations is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety standards.
