Forklift Operator

Purpose of role

This is a warehouse position responsible for receiving, moving and packing orders for inbound and outbound loads.

· Load/unload trucks and or trailers using sit down forklifts, or manual pallet jacks for both inbound and outbound freight and stack for storage in assigned spaces

· Inspect and perform maintenance of forklifts and other material handling equipment

· Stack materials neatly onto or crates for storage or shipment

· Transport raw materials to production workstations

· Stage pallets of materials in accordance with warehouse procedures

· Perform necessary housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment

· Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs

· Safely perform all other assigned warehouse functions utilizing established processes, procedures and tools while meeting performance expectations for productivity, quality, safety and attendance

Candidate requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent

· One year of warehouse distribution experience preferred

· Forklift experience demonstrated

· Forklift Certification preferred

· Basic math skills to count product

· The ability to operate independently with minimal supervision

· The ability to read product labels, warehouse forms, etc.

· Adhere to all company policies and procedures

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear.

· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50-80 pounds

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
