Forklift Operator

About the role

Responsible for operating a forklift safely and efficiently for loading, unloading, lifting, moving and stacking materials in the company premises.

Key responsibilities

• Operate forklift safely and according to work procedures and company safety regulations
• Load, unload, lift, move and stack recycled materials, goods and other materials as directed
• Ensure materials are placed and stacked correctly and safely to prevent damage or accidents
• Conduct forklift inspection before starting work and report any damage or issues to the Supervisor immediately
• Ensure forklift is always in clean, good and safe condition for use
• Comply with movement routes, speed limits and safety regulations in the work area
• Ensure load weight does not exceed forklift safety capacity before lifting or moving
• Assist with loading and unloading lorries when required
• Handle materials carefully to reduce damage, spillage and waste
• Report immediately any accidents, near misses, equipment damage or unsafe work conditions
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of work area
• Complete forklift inspection records, checklists and related documents when required
• Cooperate with Supervisor and other workers to ensure daily operations run smoothly
• Perform other tasks related to forklift operation and material management as directed by Management
• Provide work progress updates through company WhatsApp group to enable Supervisor and Management to monitor work status

About you

• Wear designated PPE at all times
• Do not operate forklift under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any substance that may impair alertness
• Do not carry passengers unless the forklift is specifically designed to carry passengers
• Do not lift or carry loads exceeding forklift capacity
• Comply with all safety regulations and company instructions
• Report immediately any unsafe conditions or forklift damage
• Maintain good and consistent attendance
• Absence only permitted for emergencies; must notify Supervisor immediately at least one day in advance if unable to attend
• Always comply with instructions, advice and tasks given by Supervisor
