Forklift Operator - Lyons Timber Mart

Lyons Timber Mart is currently seeking a Full Time Forklift Operator to join our roster. You will work out of our Wellington West location. Lyons Ltd. has been part of the community since 1913 – today, we continue the tradition of being a family owned business serving Algoma as Island Timber Mart Kent’s Corner, Lyons Timber Mart Black Rd., and Lyons Timber Mart Wellington.

The ideal candidate will find excitement in joining a team who provides customers with quality products, expert advice, and exceptional service.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist customers/colleagues with the safe loading and unloading of their vehicles in a timely manner
• Greet and assist customers with a friendly and positive attitude
• Ensure Yard/Warehouse are maintained to company standards
• Keep all areas free of garbage and debris
• Maintain Valid Forklift License from Equipment World
• Stacking empty Pallets
• Lift up to 50lbs safely
• Assess weights, judge distances and heights
• Assist with other duties as required or assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Experience operating a forklift - Valid Forklift Certificate
• Class G Drivers License
• Experience in a lumber yard or construction setting would be an asset
• Able to work flexible shifts including weekdays, evenings and weekends
• Knowledgeable of lumber and building materials
• Possess the ability to assess weights, judge distances and heights
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Forklift license would be an asset, however is not required
