Forklift Operator / Freight Picker & Loader

• Full-time position
• 7:00am start-time
• Monday-Friday and every second Saturday

Collins operates a large fleet of refrigerated vans and tautliners, delivering both interstate linehaul services and local distribution of frozen, chilled, perishable and general goods.

Your role will focus on warehouse picking and loading activities and will include:

• Using a forklift to move products across chilled and frozen storage areas
• Locating and retrieving palletised freight from warehouse lanes using a forklift
• Staging freight ready for outbound loading by Company or third party fleet
• Applying correct labels and load documentation to freight prior to dispatch
• Conducting freight checks to ensure accuracy against loading requirements
• Loading refrigerated trailers safely and efficiently
• Undertaking safe and effective restraint and storage of freight as required
• Operating equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Identifying and escalating food safety & quality issues, hazards and risks
• Adhering to food safety and HACCP regulations
• Completing handwritten manual loading documentation
• Using a warehouse management system (WMS) to label, put-away and pick customer freight

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• A current LF Forklift license
• 1+ years of forklift operation experience
• Comfortable working in freezer environments
• Experience with palletised freight (preferred)
• Basic computer literacy
• Experience with warehouse management systems (Carton Cloud preferred) - not essential
• Ability to adhere to WHS and Safety Regulations
