Forklift Operator - Recycling

About the RolePasha Recycling Services is looking for an experienced and reliable Forklift Driver to join our busy recycling operation. This is a fast-paced working environment where safety, efficiency and teamwork are essential. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years' forklift operating experience and ideally be confident operating both Counterbalance Forklifts and Teletruks. You will play an important role in the day-to-day movement and handling of recyclable materials around the site, ensuring that materials are moved safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organised working environment.

We are looking for someone who is experienced, dependable and safety-conscious, but who can also keep up with the demands of a busy recycling site. You will be a team player who is happy to get stuck in, communicate with colleagues and help keep the operation running smoothly.

The ability to work independently, follow instructions and use initiative when required is important. If you have strong forklift experience, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are looking for a long-term role within an established recycling operation, we would like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklift equipment, including Counterbalance and Teletruk where required.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Move, stack and organise recyclable materials around the site.
• Load and position materials for processing and onward transportation.
• Ensure materials are stored safely and in the correct designated areas.
• Assist with maintaining safe and clear working areas throughout the site.
• Carry out daily forklift checks and report any defects or issues immediately.
• Follow all site health & safety procedures and environmental requirements.
• Work closely with the site and operations team to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Assist with general site duties when required.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping around the working area.
• Work efficiently within a busy, fast-moving recycling environment.
• Follow instructions from the Site Manager and Operations Team.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' forklift driving experience.
• Current/recent forklift operating experience.
• Good understanding of workplace health & safety.
• Ability to work safely in a busy industrial environment.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable working at pace and managing changing priorities.
• Good awareness of pedestrians, vehicles and other site activities.
• A positive attitude towards work and a willingness to get involved.

Desirable

• Experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift.
• Experience operating a Teletruk.
• Experience within the recycling, waste management, logistics or manufacturing industries.
• Relevant forklift certification/training.
• Experience working around heavy vehicles and loading/unloading operations.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:45am – 5:00pm
Employment Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £34,000.00 per year
