Forklift Operator Team Leader

We are seeking a skilled, safety-conscious Forklift Team Leader to join our team in a fast-paced storage yard and factory environment. In this role, you will combine hands-on equipment operation with yard floor leadership. You will ensure your team moves, locates, stacks, and counts inventory safely and efficiently while maintaining precision across all shipping and receiving activities. Key Responsibilities

• Team Guidance: Oversee yard safety and daily tasks, ensuring team compliance with site protocols.
• FLT Operation: Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment to load and unload lorries with precision and care.
• Inventory Control: Manage stock levels, verify incoming deliveries, and utilize basic math skills to maintain stock count accuracy.
• Logistics Support: Assist with shipping, receiving, and cross-functional warehouse management tasks as needed.
• Equipment Care: Perform basic mechanical checks and routine maintenance on handling equipment to keep fleet downtime low.
• Housekeeping: Champion a clean, organized, and tidy working environment across the yard and factory floor.

What We Are Looking For

• Certification: Valid, accredited Forklift Operator certification (e.g., Counterbalance / Reach).
• Experience: Proven history in a warehouse, storage yard, or factory environment. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a distinct advantage.
• Capabilities: Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and solid basic math skills for inventory control.
• Leadership Traits: Good communication skills with the mechanical awareness required to flag equipment faults early.
• Safety First Mindset: A track record of operating heavy machinery safely around a busy yard.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £14.50-£18.50 per hour
