Forklift Operator / Warehouse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a diligent sit-down forklift operator to efficiently and safely transport materials within our facilities. The role involves operating a forklift in warehouses, storage areas, and other company premises. The ideal candidate will be a responsible individual with significant experience in driving industrial vehicles, ensuring that materials and products are always optimally positioned for maximum efficiency.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.
• Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places.
• Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items.
• Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads; once delivered, removes strapping and wrapping, then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas.
• Reports any problems with materials or transportation to the supervisor.
• Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.

Education and Experience

• Proven experience of at least 6 to 9 months as a forklift operator.
• Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.
• Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness.
• Must be able to move and lift up to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $19.50 per hour
