Forklift Operator/Material Handler

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks, to efficiently load, unload, and move products within the warehouse. Your expertise in inventory management, order picking, and warehouse operations will ensure smooth distribution processes and uphold safety standards across all activities. Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments with precision.
• Manage inventory by accurately scanning barcodes using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ensuring proper stock placement.
• Pick and pack orders efficiently using order picker equipment while maintaining high accuracy levels.
• Assist in shipping and receiving tasks by verifying incoming shipments against documentation and preparing outgoing loads for dispatch.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for any issues with heavy equipment or materials handling tools.
• Follow OSHA and OSHA-compliant forklift safety protocols to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment.
• Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials, performing manual handling tasks, heavy lifting, and ensuring proper storage practices.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, shipment logs, and safety checks to support warehouse management system (WMS) data integrity.

Experience

• Proven experience operating forklift equipment such as lift trucks, reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, or similar material handling machinery.
• Prior warehouse experience involving order picking, shipping & receiving, or inventory management is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics purposes, and basic math skills for inventory counts.
• Knowledge of safety standards in production environments including OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and manual handling procedures.
• Experience with heavy equipment repair or troubleshooting is a plus but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while lifting heavy loads regularly in a fast-paced setting.
• Warehouse supervisor experience or familiarity with warehouse distribution processes will be considered advantageous for leadership growth opportunities.
