Forklift Operator/Material Handler

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, and pallet jacks, to move, load, unload, and organize inventory. Your expertise will ensure safe and accurate handling of materials while maintaining optimal warehouse operations. Duties

• Operate a variety of warehouse equipment such as forklifts (including lift trucks and Hi-Lo), and barcode scanners for logistics purposes
• Load and unload shipments safely and efficiently while adhering to OSHA and safety standards in production
• Pick orders using order picker equipment and ensure correct items are selected according to shipping documents
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for any issues with heavy equipment operation
• Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment by properly stacking pallets and materials handling with manual handling techniques

Skills

• Proven experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as forklifts, and pallet jacks in a warehouse setting
• Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes including order picking, load & unload procedures, shipping & receiving protocols
• Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining proper ergonomic practices
• Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and verifying shipment quantities
• Experience in warehouse management or supervision roles is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential

Pay: $15.50 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
