Form Work engineer

About the role

This role involves performing quantity take-off and volume calculations for formwork/bekisting work based on working drawings, shop drawings, and actual site conditions. The position requires measurement of bekisting work including columns, shear walls, core walls, beams, slabs, stairs, and other structural elements, with verification against shop drawings, as-built drawings, and actual site conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-off and volume calculations for bekisting/formwork based on working drawings, shop drawings, and actual site conditions
• Conduct measurement of bekisting work including columns, shear walls, core walls, beams, slabs, stairs, and other structural elements
• Check and verify work volumes against shop drawings, as-built drawings, and actual site conditions
• Prepare progress measurement and progress claim documentation for bekisting work
• Monitor and evaluate progress of bekisting subcontractors/vendors
• Reconcile quantities between internal calculations, subcontractor submissions, and actual site progress
• Process variation orders, additional work, omissions, and change orders related to bekisting work
• Assist with cost control and cost monitoring of formwork
• Review and evaluate shop drawings, method statements, and supporting documents related to quantity work
• Coordinate with Site Engineer, Construction Team, Planning, Procurement, and Subcontractors to ensure quantities and progress align with actual conditions

About you

• Minimum D3/S1 qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor, particularly on building/high-rise construction projects
• Required experience in bekisting/formwork work as a QS, Commercial Engineer, or related position
• Understanding of formwork methods and systems on high-rise projects such as conventional formwork, table form, climbing form, jump form, or system formwork
• Ability to read and understand structural drawings, architectural drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings
• Strong capability in quantity take-off and measurement of structural work
• Understanding of progress claim processes, subcontractor valuation, variation orders, variations, and final account procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; AutoCAD skills are an advantage
• Strong analytical capability in quantity and cost analysis; detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work to targets and deadlines
• Able to communicate and coordinate with site teams and subcontractors
