Formwork Engineer / Sr. Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:

A. Formwork Planning & Execution

• Plan, monitor, and supervise execution of formwork works using Doka, Ulma, Mivan, and conventional shuttering systems.
• Ensure execution of reinforcement, block work, concreting sequence, and casting activities as per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Develop and implement formwork strategies and methodologies for various construction projects.
• Monitor daily formwork activities and ensure adherence to project schedules and casting cycles.
• Ensure proper assembly, installation, stripping, and maintenance of formwork systems.

B. Design & Technical Support

• Review structural and architectural drawings and provide appropriate formwork solutions.
• Coordinate with design consultants, project engineers, and site teams on formwork requirements.
• Supervise formwork design, erection, and dismantling activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues associated with formwork operations.
• Inspect formwork stability, alignment, and dimensional accuracy before concrete pouring.

C. Estimation & Costing

• Prepare Formwork BOQ and material requirement calculations.
• Estimate quantities and plan procurement requirements for formwork materials.
• Prepare Slip Form costing and technical inputs for tendering processes.
• Assist in budget preparation and cost optimization initiatives.
• Prepare and analyze periodic Job Cost Reports.

D. Material & Inventory Management

• Monitor formwork inventory and coordinate with stores to ensure timely material availability.
• Track material consumption and maintain accurate stock records.
• Ensure optimum utilization and reuse of formwork materials to minimize wastage.
• Monitor material movement across projects and recommend improvements in utilization.

E. Quality Management

• Ensure compliance with project quality standards and specifications.
• Visit project sites and provide guidance for improving concrete surface finish and construction quality.
• Identify and implement best practices to achieve superior concrete surface quality.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to address quality issues and corrective actions.

Experience

• 5 to 12 years of relevant experience in formwork planning and execution for high-rise, residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
• Hands-on experience in Doka, Ulma, Mivan, Slip Form, and conventional formwork systems.
• Experience in reinforcement coordination, concreting operations, and casting sequence planning.
• Exposure to cost estimation, BOQ preparation, inventory management, and job costing.
