Forward Deployed Engineer AI - Asset Management

Forward Deployed Engineer (AI Python AWS) London / WFH to £120k Are you a technologist with strong Asset Management / financial markets knowledge seeking an opportunity to work on complex and interesting systems with continual learning and development opportunities?

You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on Forward Deployed Engineer role at a tech driven, global Asset Manager with multiple billions of dollars under management.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer you'll work closely with investment research, operations and client reporting teams to identify business challenges, define effective AI driven solutions and establish measurable outcomes. You'll build applications, agents and automated workflows on the AI Platform, leveraging shared data connections, tools and capabilities to create practical integrations that improve how teams work.

You'll ensure solutions meet engineering and governance standards, with a focus on data access, security, testing, reliability, cost and maintainability as well as evaluating outputs against real business scenarios, refining models, prompts and data and determining where human oversight is required.

Beyond deployment, you'll monitor adoption and business outcomes, continuously improve solutions and help colleagues build the confidence and skills to use them independently. You'll also collaborate with platform and development teams to clarify delivery and support responsibilities, share reusable approaches and feed business requirements into the ongoing platform roadmap.

Location / WFH: There's a hybrid work from home policy with three days in the London office per week where you'll join a supportive, diverse team environment with a large range of facilities.

About you:

• You have strong Asset Management knowledge and experience, particularly in investment research, operations or client reporting
• You have strong software engineering foundations and experience building applications that people use, including APIs and system integrations
• You have hands-on experience with AI assisted development and connecting models to data and systems, with an understanding of their limitations
• You have advanced problem solving skills and product judgement: you can get to the root of a problem, challenge assumptions and distinguish business needs from requested features to choose a proportionate solution
• You make considered decisions in ambiguous situations, seek specialist input, learn through experimentation and follow work through
• You're collaborative and pragmatic with excellent communication skills
• You're degree educated in STEM discipline, having achieved a 2.1 or above from a top tier university
