[Mission / Background]

Using the APIs we provide, you will lead and support customers from a technical perspective in launching new services and integrating systems.

Because customer-specific projects run in parallel, we are looking for a mid-level engineer who can take responsibility as an “account owner (technical lead)” as an addition to the existing team.

Our customers include people who are not necessarily well versed in IT. Rather than simply writing code, an important mission of this position is to “help customers understand through diagrams and clear articulation, and lead them so they can proceed with development with confidence,” and to “bring the voice of the customer back into the company and feed it into the evolution of our own product (API).”

[Specific Responsibilities]

• Technical leadership and architecture design for customer projects

• Hear customers’ service concepts and propose architecture designs for API integration, authentication, and data structures to realize them

• Create diagrams and documentation that are easy for non-IT customers to understand, and build consensus by articulating requirements

• Provide technical support to customer engineering teams through implementation and release

• Planning and development of subsystems and common modules (*technology selection is flexible)

• In-house development of subsystems and client-side tools to solve issues common to multiple customers (you may freely select the language and framework yourself)

• Product feedback and collaboration with our in-house API team

• Consolidate real customer needs and issues identified in the field, and lead improvements in collaboration with the product team as requirements for extensions and changes to our own API (Voice of Customer)

[Development Environment / Support Structure]

• Development language for our in-house API: Common Lisp

• *Direct Common Lisp development is handled by our internal API specialist team. For the FDE, it is sufficient to be able to read the specifications (interfaces) using AI tools and similar resources.

• Subsystem development: At your discretion (you may adopt a language you are proficient in or a modern technology stack)

• Onboarding / support structure:

• After joining, the existing manager will closely support you from learning the API specifications through customer interactions. A ramp-up period is provided so you can join with confidence.

[Required Qualifications (Must)]

• Experience developing web applications (guideline: approximately 3 years or more)

• *We are looking for the foundational grounding and knowledge of web technologies (HTTP, REST API, database fundamentals, etc.) needed to use AI to catch up on unfamiliar technologies.

• Communication skills to visualize and articulate complex specifications and system requirements and explain them clearly to non-engineers

• Someone who finds interest and fulfillment in using our API to solve customer problems and realize services

• Someone who is not fixated on specific technologies and can flexibly select and learn technologies to achieve objectives

[Preferred Qualifications (Want)]

• Knowledge of system integration development using external APIs, or API design and authentication (OAuth/Webhook, etc.)

• Experience as a customer success engineer, solutions architect, or FDE at a SaaS company or similar organization

• Experience in customer-facing negotiations, requirements definition, or project management

• End-to-end development experience from technology selection through release
