Overview

A fast-growing AI-native software company is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join its Forward-Deployed Engineering team. This role sits at the intersection of AI, software engineering, and customer delivery, working directly with strategic customers to design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions that solve complex business challenges.

As part of a small cross-functional team, you will translate customer requirements into production-ready AI capabilities, leveraging large language models, agent frameworks, integrations, and evaluation methodologies. The role combines hands-on engineering, solution architecture, and customer engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building innovative AI systems while working closely with end users.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered agents and workflows for enterprise customers.
• Build and maintain integrations with external systems, APIs, tools, and data sources.
• Create robust evaluation frameworks and testing methodologies to ensure quality, reliability, and consistency.
• Develop reusable AI capabilities that can be scaled across customers and use cases.
• Partner with customer stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Continuously optimize agent behavior, knowledge management, performance, and user experience.
• Contribute to best practices, playbooks, and tooling that improve delivery efficiency and scalability.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
• Hands-on experience building production AI applications using LLMs, agent frameworks, RAG architectures, tool/function calling, and evaluation methodologies.
• Strong software engineering skills with experience delivering production-quality code.
• Experience integrating enterprise systems, APIs, and third-party platforms.
• Ability to quickly learn new business domains and convert customer needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and balancing speed, quality, and customer outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-agent architectures and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Familiarity with observability, evaluation, and AI quality measurement tools.
• Background in NLP, speech technologies, or conversational AI.
• Experience building solutions for enterprise environments with strong governance and security requirements.
• Track record of creating reusable frameworks, methodologies, and best practices that scale across teams.
