Base Salary: $120,000–$180,000 USD, depending on experience

This position requires approximately 70% travel to customer locations.

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a global Physical AI technology company to recruit a Forward Deployed Engineer who will work at the intersection of software engineering, artificial intelligence, and real-world operational challenges.

This is a hands-on engineering position where you will work directly with customers to understand complex problems, develop technical solutions, and take products from initial concept through production and adoption.

Unlike traditional software engineering positions, this role combines technical execution, product development, and direct customer engagement. You will have the opportunity to build solutions that impact critical industries, including energy, utilities, healthcare, telecommunications, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand their operational challenges, technical requirements, and business needs.
• Design, develop, and deploy full-stack software applications and data-driven solutions.
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, integrations, and data pipelines.
• Develop frontend applications and interfaces that enable customers to interact with technical solutions.
• Leverage AI, machine learning, and modern software technologies to address complex operational problems.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to develop reusable solutions and improve existing platform capabilities.
• Support solutions throughout development, deployment, testing, and ongoing improvement.
• Translate customer feedback into technical requirements and product enhancements.

Required Qualifications

• Ideally 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience , with flexibility for more senior hands-on engineers.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL for backend development and data-related applications.
• Professional experience with TypeScript and React for frontend development.
• Demonstrated full-stack development experience, with practical capabilities across both frontend and backend. Candidates may specialize more heavily in one area, but experience with both is required.
• Experience developing, integrating, and deploying production applications.
• Strong understanding of APIs, data integrations, and modern software development practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in dynamic environments with evolving requirements.

Additional Experience That Would Be Valuable

• AI/ML applications, LLMs, RAG, or AI agents.
• Cloud platforms and enterprise data architectures.
• Data pipelines, transformation, and analytics.
• Experience working directly with customers or external stakeholders.
• Exposure to energy, utilities, healthcare, telecommunications, or infrastructure environments.
