Forward Deployed Engineer

A global financial institution is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer Lead to join its APAC business. This is a business-aligned technology leadership role, focused on delivering practical AI solutions that improve productivity for front-office teams across the region.

About the role

The successful candidate will work directly with front-office teams, desk heads and business managers to identify where AI and automation can reduce manual effort, improve information discovery and support faster decision-making. The role has a dual reporting line: primarily to APAC business leadership for priorities and outcomes, and secondarily to Global AI Lab / Technology leadership to ensure alignment with architecture, security, risk and AI governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Partnering with front-office stakeholders to understand desk workflows and pain points, and maintaining a prioritised pipeline of AI opportunities with clear benefits and business ownership
• Designing, prototyping and delivering AI-enabled tools, agents and workflow automations, covering areas such as daily preparation, market intelligence aggregation, document automation, research support and data extraction
• Building on approved enterprise platforms, including AWS Quick, AWS Kiro and the Microsoft 365 / Copilot ecosystem, with strong engineering discipline throughout
• Leading use cases from discovery and prototype through to production deployment and user adoption, with defined business outcomes and adoption plans
• Ensuring all solutions meet technology, architecture, security, data, risk and compliance requirements, and supporting risk assessments, architecture reviews and production approvals
• Acting as the primary APAC point of coordination between business teams, the AI Lab, Technology and support functions, and representing the region in global AI forums
• Running enablement sessions, pilots, workshops and hackathons, and sharing reusable patterns and lessons across regions
