Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Role

MiniMax is bringing large model capabilities to the front lines of every industry. The Forward Deployed Engineer is the critical bridge in this mission—model capabilities on one side, real customer business on the other—turning AI from demos into systems that run in production and create measurable business value.

This is not a "customer support" role. It is a role where you embed deeply with strategic customers, own technical delivery end to end, and ship production systems that matter. You will stand at the very front line of large model deployment, facing real-world business constraints, complex system environments, and demanding enterprise customers. Every line of code you write and every agent you design goes directly into the customer's business workflows.

What You'll Do

1. Own technical delivery end to end. Build production-grade AI applications directly within customer systems on top of MiniMax's large models—MCP servers, sub-agents, Agent Skills—running in real workflows, not stuck at the POC stage. Own discovery, scoping, system design, build, and production rollout.
2. Deliver enterprise-grade deployment and production rollout. Go deep into customer environments, provide high-standard deployment support, and handle real-world complexity—permissions, compliance, system integration, stability—to ensure MiniMax products run reliably in production. Scope work, sequence delivery, and remove blockers early.
3. Codify reusable deployment patterns. Identify common challenges and best practices from frontline delivery, feed them back to product and engineering teams, and turn successful deployments into repeatable patterns that scale. Contribute insights that influence product and model roadmaps.
4. Stay on the cutting edge. Continuously track the boundaries of LLM capabilities, the latest implementation patterns, and the AI development stack—translating frontier capabilities into customer value as fast as possible.
5. Build long-term customer trust. Establish deep trust with customers, proactively uncover new AI adoption opportunities, and evolve from "delivering a project" to "becoming a long-term partner in the customer's AI transformation.

What We're Looking For

1. 3+ years of technical customer-facing experience. Forward Deployed Engineer, software engineer with a consulting background, or a similar hybrid "technical + customer" role. Former technical founders are also encouraged to apply.
2. Solid production experience with LLMs and multimodal models. Advanced prompt engineering, agent development, evaluation frameworks, and post-training at scale—you've built systems that actually shipped and are actually being used, not just demos. You understand how model behavior, evaluation, and guardrails affect user trust and business outcomes.
3. Strong independent execution. You can navigate complex org structures and ambiguous situations to find a path forward—and make things happen without a complete requirements doc. You thrive under ambiguity and model calm judgment when the stakes are high.
4. A genuine passion for safe, beneficial AI systems. You care not just about whether the technology can be built, but whether it should be—and how to build it better.
5. Excellent communication skills. You can clearly convey technical concepts and value to stakeholders from diverse backgrounds—from engineers to business leaders—while maintaining a low-ego, collaborative approach.

Nice to Have

1. Prior FDE or Professional Services experience.
2. Experience with enterprise IT systems or AI deployment patterns.
3. End-to-end experience building AI agents from 0 to 1.
