JOB DESCRIPTION

The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) is a hybrid pre-sales, solutions, and hands-on AI engineering role responsible for taking customer and business problems from discovery through to a working, adopted, and scalable AI solution.

The FDE works directly with customers, portfolio companies, business units, and partners to understand their objectives, workflows, and pain points; identify opportunities for AI transformation; redesign workflows where appropriate; and translate these opportunities into practical solutions.

Unlike a traditional solutions engineer or technical pre-sales role, the FDE is expected to personally build, configure, integrate, and deploy solutions using AgentBase and 917Ventures' AI stack . The FDE remains engaged through implementation and adoption, and identifies customer patterns that can be transformed into reusable product and platform capabilities.

The FDE will take 917Ventures' AI products, platforms, and solution portfolio from customer conversations into working deployments. Success means being able to discover the right problem, redesign the workflow, demonstrate the solution, build it, integrate it, deploy it, drive adoption, and turn field learnings into capabilities that can scale across 917Ventures .

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Discovery & Pre-Sales

• Engage customers and business stakeholders to understand business objectives, pain points, workflows, and AI opportunities.
• Lead technical discovery and workflow-mapping sessions and translate business needs into solution concepts and requirements.
• Identify opportunities for AI, automation, agentic workflows, and process redesign.
• Conduct product demonstrations and proof-of-value sessions and support technical aspects of pre-sales engagements.
• Clearly articulate solution approaches, implementation requirements, and expected business value.

Solution Design, Build & Deployment

• Design future-state AI-enabled workflows and practical solution architectures.
• Determine whether solutions should leverage existing products, configuration, automation, custom development, or a combination.
• Build and configure working solutions using AgentBase and the 917Ventures AI stack.
• Configure and customize 917Ventures' AI products, platforms, and solution capabilities for specific customer environments.
• Build AI agents, workflows, automations, and integrations with APIs, databases, CRMs, ERPs, and other enterprise systems.
• Rapidly prototype, validate, iterate, and transition successful solutions into production deployments.
• Balance speed of delivery with reliability, security, scalability, and maintainability.

Implementation & Adoption

• Stay engaged from solution design through implementation, deployment, and user adoption.
• Support onboarding, training, and change management for business users.
• Monitor usage and gather feedback to continuously improve deployed solutions.
• Identify opportunities to expand successful solutions across workflows, teams, or business units.

Productization & Collaboration

• Identify recurring customer needs, workflow patterns, and components that can become reusable product or platform capabilities.
• Feed customer insights and implementation learnings back to product and AI platform teams.
• Create reusable solution patterns, integrations, templates, and playbooks.
• Collaborate with sales, product, engineering, design, and business teams throughout the customer lifecycle.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML solutions, technical consulting, solutions engineering, or similar technical customer-facing roles.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying AI-powered applications, agents, workflows, or automation .
• Strong experience with LLM APIs, AI orchestration, agentic workflows, or equivalent AI technologies.
• Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, system integrations , and enterprise applications.
• Proficiency with workflow automation/low-code tools such as n8n, Flowise, Zapier , or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Python, Node.js/JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL , and modern application development.
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, CI/CD, cloud platforms, and production deployment.
• Strong ability to translate business problems into technical AI solutions and redesign workflows around AI.
• Strong customer-facing, presentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Comfortable facilitating discovery sessions and explaining technical concepts to executives and non-technical users.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity, moving quickly from problem to prototype to deployment , and switching between customer-facing and hands-on technical work.
• Strong bias toward building, experimentation, ownership, customer adoption, and measurable business outcomes .
• Ability to learn and work with AgentBase and evolving 917Ventures AI platforms .

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience as an FDE, Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, or Technical Product role.
• Experience with enterprise AI transformation, agentic AI, multi-agent systems, or MCP.
• Experience with AgentBase or comparable AI agent platforms.
• Experience working with enterprise customers or Philippine enterprise environments.
• Experience turning customer-specific solutions into reusable products or platform capabilities.
