About the Role:

We're looking for a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineer who works directly with customer product, engineering, and operations teams to discover problems, design solutions, write production-quality code, build integrations, and drive deployment of Conversational AI and customer experience applications. You'll own outcomes end-to-end — from problem discovery through production deployment — on one client engagement at a time, combining strong Java backend engineering with growing Python-based AI engineering capability.

What You Will Do:

1. Partner directly with customer product, engineering, operations, and CX teams to translate workflows and pain points into working solutions, APIs, data models, and integration contracts.
2. Build and maintain backend services and integrations using Java and Spring Boot.
3. Build AI/LLM capabilities in Python, including agent workflows, tool/API calling, evaluation, guardrails, and MLOps support.
4. Integrate Conversational AI with contact-center/CCaaS systems, CRM, ticketing, identity, knowledge bases, and enterprise APIs.
5. Work with the existing AI stack (Voice AI, LLM, and orchestration layers) or equivalent tools as needed.
6. Design secure, observable cloud solutions on AWS using DynamoDB and PostgreSQL; collaborate on React-based frontend workflows as required.
7. Build for production: authentication, authorization, retries, idempotency, rate limits, error handling, logging, monitoring, and incident response.
8. Design for high-concurrency, latency-sensitive customer sessions using multithreading, async processing, and backpressure.
9. Advance multimodal experiences across voice, text, and images, including context management and graceful failure handling.
10. Prototype quickly, validate with customers, iterate on real usage, and own technical troubleshooting and escalations.
11. Travel to client sites as needed to support discovery and deployment.

What We're Looking For:

1. 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience delivering customer-facing enterprise software into production.
2. Strong Java backend competency (Spring Boot, REST APIs, dependency injection, testing, service design) — this is the primary non-negotiable skill.
3. Solid working knowledge of Python with a genuine willingness to build deeper AI/LLM engineering expertise on the job.
4. Hands-on Conversational AI experience — conversation state, context handling, fallback, escalation, production measurement.
5. Experience building APIs and enterprise integrations, including authentication, webhooks, retries, idempotency, and event-driven patterns.
6. Strong debugging and production-readiness skills across testing, observability, performance, and secure data handling.
7. Ability to lead technical discovery independently, handle ambiguity, and own outcomes from problem definition through deployment.
8. Working knowledge of cloud architecture; AWS experience preferred.
9. Willingness to travel for client engagements and work 3 days/week from the Bengaluru office.
