About the Role

We are working with a high-growth AI technology company looking to hire an experienced Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join its engineering team.

The business is transforming how leading consumer brands understand their customers through an AI-powered market intelligence platform, combining advanced data engineering, automation and analytics to deliver faster, more actionable insights.

This is an opportunity to join a small, highly technical team where you will work directly with customers, take ownership of complex data engineering projects and help shape the future of the platform.

We are looking for an engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical challenges, working closely with customers and delivering solutions that have a measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data integration projects, bringing complex customer datasets into the company's platform.
• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Work with large, messy and evolving datasets, resolving challenges involving inconsistent structures, schema changes and historical data migrations.
• Develop automation solutions to streamline data ingestion, transformation, validation and analysis.
• Work directly with enterprise customers to understand their technical requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and research teams to improve platform capabilities and customer experience.
• Build reusable engineering frameworks that reduce manual processes and improve scalability.
• Contribute to platform development and enhancements across Python, TypeScript, React and Node.js.
• Take ownership of technical projects from initial scoping through to deployment and delivery.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI and LLM-powered automation across data workflows.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Data Engineering or a similar technical, customer-facing position.
• Strong hands-on engineering experience with Python, SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Proven experience building data pipelines and managing complex data ingestion or ETL projects.
• Experience working with unstructured, inconsistent or frequently changing datasets.
• Previous experience working within an early-stage startup or high-growth technology company.
• Demonstrated ability to own and deliver technical projects independently.
• Experience working directly with customers and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate in fast-moving environments.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be based in the United States with existing work authorisation, without requiring sponsorship.

Nice to Have

• Experience within AI, SaaS, data analytics or market intelligence platforms.
• Background working with enterprise customers or major consumer brands.
• Experience with market research, survey data or customer intelligence datasets.
• Knowledge of TypeScript, React, Node.js or R.
• Exposure to AI agents, LLMs and workflow automation.
• Experience with AWS or modern cloud-based data infrastructure.
• Previous experience working in a founding, early-stage or highly autonomous engineering team.
