Forward Deployed Engineer — Payments & Financial Infrastructure

Swiss Nexus is recruiting a Forward Deployed Engineer for a client building payments and financial infrastructure.

You’ll work directly with payments companies and financial institutions, owning integrations from initial scoping through implementation and go-live. You’ll also help shape the product by translating customer needs into engineering requirements and roadmap priorities.

This role requires strong engineering depth alongside an interest in customer-facing work and technical sales.

What you’ll do

• Own integrations from scoping and technical design through implementation, testing and go-live.
• Understand customer systems, requirements and complex flows of funds.
• Turn customer feedback into actionable product and engineering priorities.
• Build tooling, SDKs and documentation that simplify integrations.
• Debug production issues across internal and partner systems.
• Lead technical customer discussions and support the sales process.

What you’ll bring

• 3+ years building and shipping integrations with payment systems, financial infrastructure or banking partners.
• Strong coding skills and experience delivering production software.
• Ownership of customer integrations across the full lifecycle.
• Payments knowledge and confidence navigating complex flows of funds.
• Experience consuming APIs and understanding what makes a good integration experience.
• The ability to translate clearly between technical teams and customers.
• Availability to work on-site in NYC five days per week and travel to customers and partners.

Experience that stands out

• Forward-deployed, solutions or integration engineering experience in fintech or payments infrastructure.
• A fintech startup background with hands-on ownership of customer integrations.
• Stablecoin or blockchain experience is a plus, but is not required.
