As a Forward Deployed Financial Engineer, you will work directly with customers to identify opportunities for AI-driven transformation and turn complex business challenges into practical, production-ready solutions. In the Platform focus, you will own the infrastructure, deployment, security, and operational reliability that enable these solutions to run effectively in customer environments. You will combine hands-on engineering with technical consulting, collaborating closely with customer IT and finance teams to deliver measurable business value. Working across engineering, product development, and customer success, you will help shape scalable platform capabilities and improve delivery efficiency. Accountabilities

• Platform Deployment and Infrastructure: Own the deployment and operation of customer-facing solutions, including integrations, authentication, secrets management, cloud hosting, monitoring, and release processes. Ensure solutions are secure, reliable, maintainable, and suitable for production use.
• Customer Discovery and Technical Consulting: Lead technical discovery sessions with customer IT and finance teams to understand existing systems, data, operational constraints, and business priorities. Translate findings into practical, deployable technical designs and recommendations.
• End-to-End Solution Delivery: Take ownership of customer projects from initial discovery and solution recommendations through development, deployment, delivery, and handoff, ensuring the final solution addresses real business needs and is adopted successfully.
• AI Solution Development: Build and deliver customer-facing solutions, including AI skills, routines, workflows, applications, and agents. Develop prototypes that address immediate requirements while identifying opportunities to create reusable capabilities.
• Engineering Tooling and Standardization: Build internal tools, templates, infrastructure patterns, and reusable components that improve engineering productivity, accelerate implementation, and establish consistent quality standards across customer engagements.
• Production Reliability and Operations: Implement appropriate monitoring, observability, release management, and operational practices to ensure deployed solutions remain functional and maintainable after delivery.
• Customer Adoption and Change Management: Work directly with customer stakeholders to explain technical decisions, manage implementation changes, and support adoption. Help customer IT and finance teams integrate new solutions into their existing workflows.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Customer Success, Product, and R&D teams to troubleshoot technical challenges, communicate customer requirements, and contribute insights that inform product improvements.
• Scalable Platform Innovation: Identify recurring customer challenges and translate them into opportunities for broader platform capabilities, reusable products, and improved implementation methodologies.
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document technical architectures, implementation decisions, lessons learned, and repeatable approaches to strengthen team knowledge and improve future delivery.
• Stakeholder Communication: Clearly explain technical concepts, infrastructure and security trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior finance leaders.

Requirements

• Customer-Facing Technical Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead technical conversations with customers, facilitate discovery with IT and finance stakeholders, manage expectations, communicate trade-offs, and maintain confidence when project requirements change.
• End-to-End Ownership: Proven ability to take a problem from initial discovery through implementation and production delivery, ensuring the resulting solution is practical, reliable, and actively used by customers.
• DevOps and Infrastructure Expertise: Strong understanding of cloud deployment, APIs and integrations, CI/CD pipelines, authentication, secrets management, hosting, monitoring, and observability. Ability to move solutions from working prototypes into reliable production environments.
• Software Engineering Skills: Production experience with Python or TypeScript, SQL, REST APIs, and at least one major cloud platform. Ability to build usable software and develop tools that help other engineers deliver more efficiently.
• Business Systems Integration: Experience integrating applications with enterprise or business systems through APIs, including appropriate handling of authentication, credentials, and sensitive information.
• Applied AI Knowledge: Familiarity with LLM-based systems, AI agents, and tool use, together with an understanding of the infrastructure, deployment, and operational requirements needed to support these technologies.
• Technical Judgment and Problem-Solving: Ability to translate ambiguous business and technical requirements into clear, defensible recommendations and design solutions that balance customer needs, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Product-Oriented Mindset: Strong systems thinking and an interest in developing reusable solutions that can evolve beyond a single customer engagement.
• Project Management and Independence: Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, work autonomously, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain ownership through implementation and handoff.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside Product, R&D, Customer Success, and other stakeholders.
• Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to experiment, learn quickly, and solve unfamiliar problems creatively.
• Preferred Experience: Experience in forward-deployed engineering, technical consulting, platform engineering, DevOps, or broad-scope engineering roles involving implementation and customer delivery.
• Additional Advantage: Experience deploying LLM-based systems for real users, including production monitoring and evaluation, is beneficial. Familiarity with finance, accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), Excel-based workflows, ERP systems, or other enterprise business applications is also an advantage, though direct finance industry experience is not required.
