Forward Deployed Software Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with enterprise customers, building and implementing AI-powered applications. This role blends hands-on engineering with customer-facing delivery ideal for engineers from a Full Stack, Data Science, or Applied AI background who enjoy solving real-world problems with LLMs.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI/LLM-based applications for enterprise customers
• Work hands-on with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), transformer architectures, and prompt workflows
• Fine-tune and integrate large language models into production systems
• Build full-stack applications using Python, REST APIs, SQL, backend services, and microservices
• Implement guardrails, reliability checks, and best practices for safe AI deployments
• Collaborate directly with customers to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions
• Own end-to-end implementation from architecture design to deployment and support
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Data Science, Engineering) to scale solutions

Requirements

• 5-14 years of experience in Software Engineering/Fullstack/Data Science/Applied AI
• Strong hands-on coding experience (Python mandatory)
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, or model fine-tuning
• Full-stack development experience: REST APIs, SQL, backend systems, microservices (preferred for Option 2 candidates)
• Experience implementing large-scale enterprise systems
• Strong customer-facing / client engagement skills
• Bilingual - Japanese N1 or N2 level required
• Prior experience as a Technical Lead is a plus

Good to Have

• Background in Data Science with exposure to AI/ML systems
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools
• Understanding of enterprise architecture and system design
