ABOUT US

ACFOR is a Maritime-based forestry company managing woodlands for private landowners and partners across NB and NS. Our work centres on climate-smart forestry: thinnings and partial harvests that keep forests healthy and productive for the long term. We're a small team, we run modern equipment, and we care about doing the job right.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Run our Ponsse Wisent forwarder in cut-to-length operations, working with our harvester operator.
  • Forward and sort products from thinnings and partial cuts while protecting the trees left standing and the soil.
  • Follow harvest plans: trail layout, brush mats, wet-ground limits, buffers.
  • Do daily inspections and preventative maintenance, and handle basic field repairs.
  • Keep the crew and supervisor up to date on progress, issues and safety.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Must have: at least 2 years running a forwarder in cut-to-length operations.
  • Must have: experience in thinnings or partial cuts, or a strong interest in learning this style of work.
  • Must have: mechanically capable; you can diagnose and fix common issues.
  • Must have: valid Class 5 driver's licence and a reliable safety record.
  • Assets: First Aid, WHMIS, forestry safety training, onboard computer or production-reporting experience.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • $26–$32 per hour, based on experience.
  • Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • Company truck and paid accommodations when working away.
  • Health benefits after 6 months.
  • Pension plan after 1 year.
  • Ponsse forwarder.
  • Training in climate-smart harvesting and room to grow with a forward-thinking company.

HOW TO APPLY

Apply by email to [email protected] . Tell us your experience, what machines you've run, and when you could start. We review applications as they come in; closing date November 6, 2026 .

  • ACFOR is an equal-opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified people

  • Porteur Ponsse.
