Forwarding Executive

About the role

To manage and oversee the company's Customs Brokerage and Freight Forwarding operations, ensuring efficient, compliant and timely handling of import, export, customs clearance and forwarding activities. The position is responsible for maintaining high standards of operational performance, customs compliance and customer service while managing manpower, costs, productivity and overall service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all customs clearance activities for import, export, re-export, transshipment, other related shipments and documentations.
• Ensure compliance with the requirements of Royal Malaysian Customs Department and other relevant government authorities.
• Ensure proper preparation, submission and maintenance of customs declarations, permits, supporting documents and records.
• Liaise with port authorities, free trade zone authorities, and Customs authorities.
• Maintain forwarding licenses for MIAG Bonded Warehouse, Bonded Trucks, etc.
• Monitor customs clearance procedures, licenses, exemptions, tariff classifications, valuation, duties, taxes and other applicable requirements.
• Update and maintain the records of customers' LMW licenses, material lists and bank guarantees.
• Keep abreast of changes in customs laws, regulations, procedures and government requirements and communicate relevant changes to the team and customers.
• Review and resolve forwarding / customs-related issues, queries, audits, inspections, disputes and penalties.
• Establish appropriate internal controls to minimize customs errors, delays, penalties and compliance risks.

About you

• Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or Administration or relevant discipline.
• Minimum 5-8 years working experience in similar capacity, preferably with supervisory / managerial experience.
• Proficiency in English and Malay Language.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in forwarding, transport, shipping, warehouse operations, and customs clearance procedures.
• Good leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant forwarding / logistics systems.
