Forwarding Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Forwarding Manager to oversee and manage our forwarding operations in Klang. The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of import and export shipments, customs clearance, freight forwarding operations, documentation, regulatory compliance, customer and vendor management, team performance, and cost control. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in freight forwarding and customs clearance, with the ability to lead a team and manage day-to-day forwarding operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the full customs clearance process for import and export shipments
• Ensure accurate HS/HTS code classification, tariff application, and duty/tax calculations
• Review customs declarations including K1, K2, K4, K8, K9, and other relevant declarations
• Handle customs clearance and coordinate with Customs, MAQIS, SIRIM, MITI, KKM, CIDB, and other relevant authorities when required
• Manage ZB submissions through uCustoms, including supporting document verification, exemption applications, and approval follow-up
• Oversee daily forwarding operations covering Sea Freight, Air Freight, Road Transport, Cross-Border, FCL, LCL, and Break-Bulk shipments
• Arrange carrier bookings and coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and logistics service providers
• Negotiate freight rates and service terms with carriers and vendors
• Lead, supervise, train, and develop customs officers, declaration staff, and forwarding executives
• Monitor departmental KPIs, clearance timelines, shipment performance, and compliance accuracy

About you

• Minimum SPM and above
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding, with hands-on experience in customs clearance and customs declaration
• Strong knowledge of import/export procedures and customs regulations
• Hands-on experience with uCustoms and ZB submissions
• Good knowledge of HS/HTS code classification, tariff application, and duty/tax structures
• Familiar with import/export permits, licences, exemptions, and regulatory procedures
• Experience handling FCL, LCL, Airfreight, Cross-Border, and Break-Bulk shipments
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Good analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight operational deadlines

🕐 Working Hours:

* Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

* Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
