We have multiple offices to provide 24/7, 365 days a year support to the areas where our foster families live and specialize in carefully matching children and teens with foster parents capable of providing the stability, love, and hope they require until they can reunite with their families, be adopted, or transition to independent living. Our commitment begins with recruiting, training, and licensing our foster parents, ensuring they possess the skills necessary for the unique challenges of fostering.

We are looking for individuals and families interested in fostering youth. This is an opportunity to engage your passion for helping youth in your community.

As a Foster Parent, you will play a crucial role in providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children who are in need. As a foster parent, you will support positive behavior of the children and ensure proper mental, physical and social development is achieved. Foundations Health & Wholeness will provide training, licensing and continued support as children are placed in your care. Foster families receive tax-free reimbursement from the county for children placed in care. Foster children receive medical assistance so there are no out-of-pocket costs for medical, dental or optical services.

Duties

• Provide a safe, stable, and loving home for children placed in your care.
• Provide supervision of youth in accordance with DCF requirements.
• Ensure the physical, emotional, and educational needs of the child are met.
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists, and other professionals involved in the child's care.
• Advocate for each child’s emotional, physical, behavioral, and developmental needs.
• Support the child in developing life skills and coping mechanisms.
• Maintain open communication with biological parents when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to accept diverse backgrounds and experiences of children placed in your care.
• Be accessible 24/7 to child/youth placed in care and have availability to attend meetings, appointments, and respond to issues/emergencies.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience to support children through their challenges.
• Possess ability to provide for the custodial care of a foster child including food, clothing and medical needs.
• Ability to clear FBI background check and criminal check.
• Carry automobile and homeowner/renter insurance.
• Be of good physical and mental health with ability to clear physical exam.
