Founding AI Systems Engineer (AI Security), San Francisco

$160,000 to $300,000 base + significant early-stage equity

We’re partnered with an early-stage AI security company building infrastructure to secure and control AI agents inside large enterprises.

They’re tackling a new class of security problems created as companies deploy autonomous AI agents with access to internal systems, data, credentials, and tools. The platform gives security teams visibility into what agents are doing and can detect and block dangerous behaviour in real time.

What you’ll do:

• Build high volume, real-time infrastructure ingesting AI agent telemetry across enterprise environments

• Design detection and policy systems to identify and block dangerous agent behaviour

• Work across distributed systems, security, LLMs, and applied ML

• Red-team agents for prompt injection, tool misuse, data exfiltration, and other failure modes

• Work directly with enterprise customers and ship features into production quickly

What we’re looking for:

• 0–5 years of software engineering experience, open to exceptional new grads

• Strong backend and systems engineering fundamentals

• Experience building and shipping production systems

• Comfortable owning problems end to end in a fast-moving early-stage environment

• Strong communication skills and comfortable working directly with customers

Experience with distributed systems, security, applied ML, quant engineering, or competitive programming is a strong plus.
