ABOUT MOTHER-MAY-I

Mother-May-I is a new premium Southern-inspired gourmet cookie and gifting brand being developed in Atlanta.

We are creating oversized, gourmet stuffed cookies inspired by Southern desserts — including concepts such as Peach Cobbler, Banana Pudding, Butter Pecan Praline, and Red Velvet Cheesecake.

We are looking for a talented baker who wants to help build something from the beginning.

This is not simply a position where you will receive a recipe and bake the same product every day.

During our development stage, you will help test, refine, document, and eventually produce signature Mother-May-I products. As the business grows, the role can develop into a production leadership position.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Bake and test gourmet stuffed-cookie recipes
• Help refine doughs, fillings, toppings, textures, and presentation
• Follow controlled recipes using exact weights and measurements
• Record test-batch results accurately
• Produce consistent products to defined quality standards
• Portion, bake, cool, finish, and package products
• Follow food-safety and sanitation requirements
• Track ingredient usage, yields, waste, and production results
• Use an iPad for recipes, training, production instructions, checklists, and daily operations
• Help identify production problems and opportunities for improvement
• Maintain a clean, organized production environment

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We want someone who is:

• An excellent baker
• Experienced with cookies, pastries, desserts, or bakery production
• Comfortable working with filled or stuffed baked products
• Precise with measurements and portion control
• Comfortable using digital tools and an iPad
• Organized and dependable
• Serious about cleanliness and food safety
• Able to follow standardized procedures
• Comfortable receiving feedback and repeating test batches
• Excited about helping develop a new bakery brand
• Interested in growing with the company

Professional bakery experience is strongly preferred.

Culinary or pastry training is a plus, but demonstrated skill, consistency, professionalism, and willingness to learn matter most.

IMPORTANT

Mother-May-I is currently in the product-development and business-build stage.

The initial role will involve recipe testing and production-system development before regular commercial production begins.

We are especially interested in someone who enjoys both the creative side of baking and the discipline required to reproduce an exceptional product consistently.

COMPENSATION

Competitive hourly compensation based on experience.

Initial schedule and hours will depend on the development and launch schedule, with opportunity for expanded responsibility as Mother-May-I grows.
