About Kutlerri.ai

Kutlerri.ai builds AI agents for restaurants, focused on two outcomes: increasing revenue and reducing costs.

Our first AI agent, the Catering Sales Agent, is already live with paying US restaurant customers. It helps restaurants capture catering opportunities, respond to inquiries, send quotes, follow up with prospects, and turn one-time orders into repeat accounts.

We are now building the next generation of AI agents for restaurant operations across areas such as margin recovery, prep forecasting, menu economics, and customer retention.

That's where you come in.

About the Role

We are looking for a Founding Engineer who wants to build products from the ground up.

You will work directly with the founding team and own features end-to-end, from database schema to frontend, AI agent layer, integrations, deployment, and production monitoring.

This is a hands-on role in a small team. There is no "that's not my layer." One day you may build a product screen, the next you may work on LLM orchestration, and the next you may integrate with a POS system.

You will see your work in the hands of real restaurant operators quickly.

What You Will Own

Full-Stack Product Development

• Build product experiences that restaurant operators can understand and use easily.
• Own features from database/schema design to frontend implementation.
• Work across frontend, backend, APIs, and infrastructure.
• Build and ship production-ready features quickly.

AI Agents

• Design and build AI agents using LLMs.
• Work on prompts, tool use, memory, guardrails, and agent workflows.
• Build evaluation systems to measure agent quality.
• Make practical trade-offs between latency, reliability, and cost.

Integrations

• Build integrations with POS systems, email platforms, telephony, calendars, and other third-party APIs.
• Handle inconsistent APIs, messy data formats, authentication, retries, and edge cases.
• Build clean internal abstractions over external systems.

Data

• Build pipelines that transform messy restaurant data into reliable information AI agents can reason over.
• Work with operational and transactional data.
• Ensure data quality and reliability because bad data leads to bad agent decisions.

Production

• Deploy and operate what you build.
• Monitor production systems, investigate failures, and improve reliability.
• Debug using logs, metrics, and real production behaviour.
• Build systems that work reliably for customers, not just in development environments.

What We're Looking For

• At least one product, application, or project that has been used by real people.
• Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs / Generative AI, beyond simply calling an API.
• Understanding of prompt engineering, tool calling, agent workflows, evaluations, latency, and cost trade-offs.
• Comfortable working across frontend, backend, AI, and infrastructure.
• Strong debugging skills and an ability to work through ambiguous technical problems.
• Comfortable working with third-party APIs and integrations.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to work with US customers and occasionally overlap with US evening hours.
