Senior-Level Software Engineer, Fintech Platform

Our client is a venture-backed fintech company building core infrastructure for consumer lending. Their platform connects retail partners with financial institutions so new financing products are easier to launch and deliver at the point of sale. The company is growing quickly and hiring engineers to build the platform behind it.

What you’ll work on

• The pricing core. Turn the pricing engine into the foundation every financing decision runs through, across products, many lenders, and multiple jurisdictions. It has to be fast, auditable, and exact.
• Deal intelligence. Help partners spot opportunities across the life of each deal and know when to act.
• Partner integrations. Grow a small set of integrations into a reliable, extensible network of partner systems, lenders, and data providers.
• Data and modeling. Build models that price risk, generate asset-level insights, and turn platform data into a real advantage for partners.
• AI-native workflows. Use LLMs and agents to automate manual work, and build tooling that lets AI work safely with internal systems and data.
• A platform that scales. Multi-tenant infrastructure, security, and monitoring built for financial data.

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years building and running production software, with solid Python and TypeScript/React experience
• Strong SQL and relational modeling, including comfort running migrations against live production databases and planning rollbacks
• Experience integrating with external APIs and data feeds that are messy, rate-limited, or poorly documented
• Precision with numbers: you test financial logic, check edge cases by hand, and treat rounding and units as real bugs
• Comfort owning work end to end: database, API, UI, deploy, and verifying it in production
• Clear written communication, including explaining results to both technical and non-technical audiences
• A strong ownership mentality: you care whether features work for customers in production, not only whether the PR merged

Nice to have

• Background in consumer lending, auto finance, or retail point-of-sale systems
• Quantitative modeling experience (pricing, forecasting, or risk models)
• Experience with a major cloud provider (Azure a plus)
• Experience building with LLMs in production or in your own workflow
• Experience building AI-powered tools or MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers
• Time at an early-stage startup, where you set your own priorities and ship with little process

Success is a platform partners trust with real money and rely on to run their business, not a count of features shipped. In your first year, you’ll own core pieces of the platform, help bring AI into how the team builds and how partners work, and lay the engineering foundation a larger team will grow on.

Compensation

Base salary $140,000–$160,000, plus meaningful equity, healthcare coverage, and additional benefits.
