Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space.

This role will help shape a new customer-facing engineering function at the intersection of software development, AI, and enterprise delivery. The right candidate will partner closely with customers and internal stakeholders to turn real-world workflow challenges into scalable solutions that improve adoption, efficiency, and product impact. As a founding team member, you will also help define the operating model, processes, and culture for the function.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Define operational processes and create internal playbooks for the forward deployed engineering team.
• Partner with enterprise customers to map and enhance learning and development workflows.
• Design and deploy custom AI agents for seamless customer integration.
• Translate customer insights into scalable platform features.
• Manage the product lifecycle from discovery to deployment and optimization.
• Establish the culture and framework of the new forward deployed engineering team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining full-stack software products.
• Experience deploying agentic AI systems and LLM-powered applications in production.
• Strong customer-centric mindset with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and tackle undefined problems confidently.
• Proven rapid prototyping ability with a focus on real-world testing and feedback.
• Fluency in core tech stack including React, TypeScript, Next.js, and AWS.
• Experience with distributed systems and modern engineering tools.
