Founding GTM Engineer - CMO track · Retailgrid (remote, EU/EET±2)

Role Description As a Founding GTM Engineer on the CMO track at Retailgrid, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the go-to-market motion for an early-stage, AI-driven retail data platform. This is a contract, hybrid role based in Helsinki, with flexibility to work remotely part of the time. Day to day, you will build and iterate product demos, proof-of-concept implementations, and technical workflows that showcase Retailgrid’s value to prospective retail customers. You will collaborate closely with the founding team to design GTM experiments, refine messaging, and translate retailer needs into product improvements and data workflows. You will engage directly with customers and prospects, supporting discovery, solution design, onboarding, and feedback cycles, while laying the foundations for future marketing leadership and scalable GTM operations.

Qualifications

• Strong experience operating at the intersection of engineering and go-to-market, such as sales engineering, solutions engineering, or technical product marketing.
• Hands-on skills with data tools and workflows (e.g., spreadsheets, BI tools, data pipelines) and the ability to quickly prototype retailer-facing solutions.
• Background in GTM strategy and execution, including positioning, messaging, and running structured experiments for customer acquisition and activation.
• Familiarity with AI-powered products or analytics platforms, and comfort explaining technical capabilities in clear, practical business terms.
• Experience working with or selling into retail, e-commerce, or similar data-heavy environments is highly beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling demos, presentations, and customer-facing materials.
• Proven ability to thrive in an early-stage, fast-moving startup, taking ownership and operating independently with minimal oversight.
• Comfort working in a hybrid setup in Helsinki (EU/EET±2), collaborating in person with the founding team while also working from home as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.
