Founding Mechanical Engineers

We’re working with an early-stage power company developing a new generation of modular power systems designed to bring reliable electricity online much faster for industrial customers, AI infrastructure, hyperscalers and utilities.

The company has raised $25M in seed funding and is now building out its founding mechanical engineering team.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an engineer who wants genuine ownership of physical hardware and the chance to work across the full development cycle, from early concepts through fabrication, testing and commissioning.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of major mechanical systems and subsystems, working closely with the core engineering team to develop and bring the technology to life.

You’ll be involved in:

• Mechanical system architecture and first-principles design
• Detailed mechanical design and CAD
• Thermal, structural and fluid analysis
• Engineering calculations, stress, vibration, fatigue and thermal growth
• Mechanical interfaces and system integration
• Working with vendors, machine shops and fabrication partners
• Prototyping, build and test
• Commissioning, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for strong mechanical engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, working across disciplines and getting close to the hardware.

Relevant backgrounds could include:

• Mechanical systems and product development
• Thermal or fluid systems
• Rotating machinery or turbomachinery
• Engines, propulsion or power systems
• Aerospace and advanced hardware
• Robotics and complex electromechanical systems
• Industrial machinery and equipment

Direct experience in the company’s specific technology is not essential. Strong engineers from adjacent industries with excellent mechanical fundamentals, hands-on experience and broad ownership are encouraged to apply.

Location

Bay Area preferred , with regular travel to the Reno / Carson City area and the company’s test facilities.

The role is suited to engineers based in the Bay Area who are comfortable travelling to Nevada around 1–2 times per month , depending on project and testing requirements.
