Founding R&D Engineer - UAV & Robotics Systems

Company Description Kapxha Dynamics builds the core intelligence for autonomous systems operating in complex and contested environments. The company focuses on battlefield intelligence software that enables UAVs to perceive, understand, decide, and operate with high autonomy. Key work areas include a UAV autonomy stack (ArduPilot / MAVLink based), counter-drone systems, and computer vision and edge AI deployed on platforms such as Jetson and Raspberry Pi. Kapxha Dynamics is a DPIIT-recognized startup based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and is actively hiring engineers who have experience building and flying real systems. The team is driven by the mission of creating the “mind inside the machine,” rather than being just another drone manufacturer.

Role Description The Founding R&D Engineer – UAV & Robotics Systems will lead hands-on research, design, and development of autonomy, perception, and control solutions for UAV and robotics platforms. Daily responsibilities include prototyping and integrating the UAV autonomy stack, designing and testing counter-drone capabilities, and implementing computer vision and edge AI algorithms on embedded hardware such as NVIDIA Jetson and Raspberry Pi. The role involves setting up and conducting flight tests, performance evaluations, and system validation, as well as iterating quickly based on test data and field feedback. The engineer will collaborate closely with founders to define technical roadmaps, contribute to product architecture, and help establish best practices for safety, reliability, and deployment in real-world environments. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Jaipur, with significant ownership over core systems and the opportunity to shape the technical culture of the company.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and a data-driven approach to problem-solving in complex autonomous and robotics systems.
• Candidates should possess Research and Development (R&D) and Research skills to explore new algorithms, evaluate emerging technologies, and translate concepts into working prototypes.
• Candidates should possess Testing skills to design test plans, run lab and field trials (including flight tests), and validate system performance and safety.
• Candidates should possess Product Development skills to move solutions from prototype to robust, deployable products in operational environments.
• Experience with UAV platforms, ArduPilot/MAVLink, robotics middleware (e.g., ROS), and embedded systems (Jetson, Raspberry Pi, or similar) is highly beneficial.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Python, or Rust, and familiarity with computer vision, sensor fusion, or control theory are preferred.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience building and flying systems, is desirable.
