The Role**

Heavnn is building the global tax platform for the remote generation.

We’re looking for a Founding Software Engineer — a hands-on builder who will shape the foundations of our technology, architecture, and AI integration from day one.

This is not a conventional engineering role — it’s part of our Founding Positions framework.

You’ll join as a builder, taking ownership of our product stack, information systems, and data architecture, with the long-term goal of becoming Head of Technology as the company grows.

You’ll design the systems that make cross-border tax automation simple, scalable, and secure — and turn your technical vision into the foundation that others will build upon.

We need a founding engineer who’s as comfortable coding features as they are designing architecture, implementing AI-driven solutions, and thinking strategically about system security and scalability.

You’ll be the cornerstone of Heavnn’s technological maturity — building what others will later manage.

What You’ll Build & Own

1️⃣ Product Development & Architecture

• Design and implement Heavnn’s architecture with scalability, reliability, and performance in mind.
• Build features for both B2C (remote workers) and B2B (companies) using Next.js, Node.js, and modern frameworks.
• Define and document best practices for versioning, testing, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and data flows across our information system.

2️⃣ AI & Automation

• Integrate AI into Heavnn’s core workflows — from tax information retrieval to automated document analysis and decision systems.
• Work with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks or similar architectures.
• Explore AI tools (OpenAI, LangChain, Pinecone, VectorDB, etc.) to enhance efficiency and intelligence across the platform.
• Experiment and prototype new AI use cases to improve user experience and internal processes.

3️⃣ Information Systems & Cybersecurity

• Establish robust security standards for user data and infrastructure.
• Oversee authentication, access control, and compliance processes.
• Manage and optimize cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or equivalent).
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and data protection protocols.

4️⃣ Technical Operations & Leadership Foundations

• Define the technical roadmap in collaboration with leadership.
• Build internal dashboards and metrics for data-driven decisions.
• Select, integrate, and manage third-party tools in the tech stack.
• Prepare the foundation for a growing team — codebase, documentation, and culture.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

• 4+ years of experience in full-stack or backend development (Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript).
• Experience with AI technologies (LLMs, RAG frameworks, API integration, or prompt engineering).
• Strong understanding of software architecture, data modeling, and information systems.
• Awareness of cybersecurity practices, including identity management, encryption, and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with modern databases and cloud platforms (Firebase, Supabase, or similar).
• Pragmatic approach — you balance technical rigor with startup speed.
• Excellent English (C1/C2) and communication skills for async collaboration.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and a genuine builder spirit.
