FOXBORO AUTOMATION ENGINEER (486)

Réalta Technologies are searching for an Automation Engineer to support our client's pharmaceutical production facility in Cork.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years' experience as an Automation Engineer with Foxboro or other DCS, preferably in the Life Sciences industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support for automation systems within the Chemical API production facility.
• Ensure optimal performance and reliability of automation systems through regular monitoring and maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to automation systems promptly to minimise production downtime.
• Perform updates and modifications to automation system designs and code to improve functionality and efficiency.
• Ensure that all updates are thoroughly tested and documented.
• Review and understand design documentation, ensuring that all automation code aligns with the specified requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of system changes and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
• Experience with Foxboro DCS or other (DeltaV, 800xA, PCS7).
• Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI development and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of automation design principles, process control and instrumentation.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to understand and interpret design documents and relate them to code.
