Description

About Energy5

Energy5 is a fast-growing company specializing in commercial electrification and EV charging infrastructure across the United States. We provide end-to-end solutions, managing every stage of a project, from site assessment, engineering, and permitting to installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance. We also help clients leverage available rebates and funding opportunities to optimize project costs.

Backed by the infrastructure expertise and nationwide field capabilities of our sister company, Utilities One, we combine the agility of a growing business with the resources to deliver projects of varying scale and complexity, from single-site installations to large-scale, multi-location deployments. Following significant revenue growth in 2024 and 2025, Energy5 continues to expand its role in the transition toward sustainable transportation and energy infrastructure.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst to support our Power and EV business lines through financial planning, forecasting, project profitability analysis, and management reporting. The role will work closely with US leadership and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, identify opportunities for margin improvement, and support strategic business decisions.

The ideal candidate combines strong FP&A expertise with hands-on project financial analysis experience and a solid understanding of the EV charging or e-mobility industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare annual budgets and monthly/quarterly rolling forecasts covering revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, headcount, and cash flow.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis, comparing actual results against budget and forecast, and explain key financial drivers to US leadership.
  • Develop and maintain driver-based financial models linking sales pipeline, backlog, win rates, crew capacity, and installation volumes to revenue and profitability.
  • Analyze profitability by business line, project type, customer segment, and region/state, recommending actions to improve margins and financial performance.
  • Prepare management reporting packages, KPI dashboards, and presentations for US leadership.
  • Forecast cash flow based on project billing milestones, customer collections, and supplier payments.
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to support decisions related to expansion, pricing, hiring, crew capacity, and incentive or rebate programs.
  • Review work-in-progress (WIP), backlog, and job cost data with accounting and project teams to ensure forecasts reflect actual project conditions.
  • Partner with US operations, sales, project managers, and accounting to collect forecast inputs and ensure financial data accuracy.
  • Translate financial analysis into actionable recommendations to improve estimating assumptions, pricing, cost control, and project margins.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in FP&A, project controlling, or project financial analysis, including hands-on project estimate vs. actual analysis and variance analysis.
  • At least 2 years of finance experience in EV charging infrastructure, e-mobility, or EV manufacturing/automotive programs.
  • Proven track record of translating financial analysis into recommendations that have been implemented and delivered measurable business improvements.
  • Experience reporting to international management; exposure to US management is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, scenario and sensitivity analysis, complex formulas, and pivot tables.
  • Strong understanding of project cost structures, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead, and how project estimates are built.
  • English proficiency at C1 level or higher, both written and spoken, for daily communication with US management.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines.

Job Benefits

  • Competitive salary package;
  • Being part of an international, dynamic work environment;
  • Professional development (seminars, courses);
  • Medical Insurance (MedLife) – subject to successful completion of the probation period;
  • Opportunity to work in a fast-growing international company with significant impact in its industry;
  • 7Card.
