• Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin

Role Summary

We are looking for a strong FPGA Development Engineer with hands-on experience in FPGA design, development, validation, and deployment for complex embedded and real-time systems.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in FPGA architecture, RTL design, simulation, debugging, and board-level integration with a solid understanding of high-speed interfaces and embedded system design.

This role will support critical engineering initiatives for GE Healthcare involving high-performance digital system design and hardware acceleration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and validate FPGA-based solutions for embedded systems
• RTL coding using VHDL / Verilog / SystemVerilog
• FPGA implementation using Xilinx / Intel (Altera) / Microsemi platforms
• Perform simulation, synthesis, timing closure, debugging, and board bring-up
• Support integration with processors such as ARM, Microblaze, PowerPC, and embedded Linux environments
• Work on high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, DisplayPort, HDMI, and serial protocols
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and system teams for end-to-end product delivery
• Support documentation, validation, and production deployment activities
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical leadership where needed

Required Skills

• Strong experience in FPGA Development and Implementation
• Hands-on experience with VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog
• Experience with Xilinx Vivado, Vitis, ISE, Quartus, ModelSim
• Knowledge of embedded systems and real-time processing
• Experience with board-level debugging and hardware validation
• Familiarity with DSP, signal processing, and hardware acceleration is a plus
• Strong communication and coordination skills

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience similar to the attached profile such as:

• Xilinx Virtex, Zynq, Ultrascale+, RFSoC platforms
• FPGA-based real-time acquisition and processing systems
• High-speed video/audio/data processing
• Hardware acceleration and low-latency system design
• Medical devices / defense / aerospace / industrial systems background preferred
