CFO Consulting Partner

Base Salary is ~$200-225k + bonus (earning potential of $300-400k+ as partner with full book)

Summary:

We are looking for an experienced CFO Consultant who currently runs their own practice, generating roughly $200-300k+ a year in recurring revenue, and who is interested in becoming a partner in a growing firm that can support their operational and financial needs.

Required:

• Extensive Accounting / Finance background
• Currently running a solo or small CFO consulting practice earning approximately $200-300k+ annually in recurring revenue with client relationships that can transfer
• An operator that is genuinely good at and truly enjoys the client facing and strategic work
• Someone who wants to build equity but would rather spend their time serving their clients and growing their book than building infrastructure

• Up to 7.5% equity stake, earned through performance

Responsibilities:

• Partners own their client relationships end to end: delivery quality, scope, and retention across their book.
• Partners lead the work through our three-tier model, directing the US operations layer and the offshore delivery team rather than performing the production work themselves.
• Partners are expected to grow the firm: originating new relationships, expanding existing ones, and building referral sources within their industry niche.
• Partners contribute beyond their own book: refining practice-group methodology, mentoring the team, and holding the standards that keep the model scalable.
• Added Partners would potentially absorb established relationships in addition to their transferred book on a case-by-case basis.
• In those cases, equity on that transferred and absorbed work is earned in two halves: one for holding relationships intact, one for originating new business post transfer. Someone who does the first very well but is not successful with the second still earns equity and a profit participation seat.
• For any established relationship absorbed by a new partner, the original partner stays the named relationship lead through an initial shadow period and actively endorses the transition.

Fractional CFO and accounting firm based in Orange, California, looking to expand into the Chicago market. We serve companies in the $2 million to $50 million revenue range that prefer to outsource their accounting and finance department operations.

Our practice groups are built around industries with distinct accounting needs: law firms (trust and IOLTA), engineering and design firms (WIP and percentage of completion), custom integrators (project costing and inventory), funeral homes (preneed trust and merchandise trust), and nonprofits (restricted funds and audit readiness). In addition, we serve capitalized startups and technology-enabled businesses, including SaaS, AI service providers, and e-commerce, where the work is investor reporting, unit economics, and revenue recognition.

We run a three-tier delivery model: a US relationship layer, a remote operations layer, and an offshore delivery team. An incoming partner's book is absorbed into that model on arrival. Billing, collections, software administration, hiring, and review move to the firm; the partner holds the relationship and leads the engagement.
