Fractional Controller

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Fractional Controller to lead financial operations with agility and precision. Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other relevant regulations.
• Manage financial reporting, including preparing accurate financial statements, reports for stakeholders, and regulatory filings.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis using spreadsheets and accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems to support strategic decision-making.
• Lead internal controls implementation and monitor adherence to regulatory compliance accounting practices across all entities.
• Perform cash management tasks including treasury management, forecasting, and managing accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Supervise or collaborate with accounting teams to ensure timely financial close processing and accurate account reconciliation.
• Support budgeting efforts, cost accounting analysis, and technical accounting projects such as IFRS conversions or non-profit/governmental accounting requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting workflows through Excel data analysis, automation initiatives, and system upgrades.
• Maintain clear documentation of financial procedures, audit trail records, and internal control policies.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Controller or senior accountant in diverse environments such as non-profit organizations, government agencies, or corporate settings.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance standards, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing accounting systems like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar software platforms.
• Strong background in financial report writing, balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping principles.
• Experience leading or managing accounting teams remotely or within a collaborative environment with excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with governmental or non-profit accounting practices is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform Excel data analysis for forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling with precision.
• Knowledge of international accounting standards and experience working with multiple currencies is a plus.

Pay: $195.00 - $230.00 per hour
