Framer / Carpenter – Skilled

Christian Builders is hiring skilled and semi-skilled framers for residential construction and remodeling projects in the South Bend area. Applicants must have hands-on construction experience, dependable attendance, and a willingness to work as part of a crew. We welcome experienced framers and candidates with basic carpentry skills who are ready to learn.

Responsibilities

• Build and assist with framing walls, floors, and roofs.
• Measure, cut, and install lumber, sheathing, and other construction materials.
• Check framing for square, level, and plumb.
• Safely operate saws, nail guns, and other hand and power tools.
• Follow layouts and instructions from the crew lead.
• Assist with general carpentry and remodeling tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.

Qualifications

• Previous construction experience required; framing or carpentry experience preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure and make accurate cuts.
• Familiarity with construction tools and safe work practices.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform essential construction duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Skilled applicants should be comfortable completing assigned framing tasks with minimal supervision. Semi-skilled applicants should have basic construction skills and be able to follow directions.
