About the role
Job Title: Framework Manager
Location: Maxim Park, Eurocentral, Scotland
Company: Balfour Beatty – Scotland
Alternative backgrounds: Project Management | Relationship Management | Account Management
About the role
Are you a natural relationship builder, highly organised and someone who thrives on being the glue that helps hold people, projects and processes together?
At Balfour Beatty, we're looking for a driven and personable Framework Manager to support our portfolio of projects delivered via select, high-quality frameworks.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines organisational skills with relationship-building abilities. You'll play an important role in supporting our customers, framework partners and internal project teams, ensuring opportunities progress effectively, relationships remain strong, reporting is effective and projects are supported from initial discussions through to successful delivery.
We're particularly interested in the person behind the CV. Someone who is proactive, engaging, exceptionally organised and confident working with people at all levels. You'll have the drive to take responsibility, the confidence to challenge when needed and the ability to keep multiple priorities moving in the right direction.
While experience in frameworks, civil engineering, infrastructure would be useful, we're equally interested in talented individuals from other sectors who can demonstrate strong project coordination, client management and stakeholder engagement skills.
What you'll be doing
As Framework Manager, you'll work closely with our business development, account management, preconstruction and operational teams, helping ensure our frameworks operate effectively and deliver a consistently high-quality experience for our customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building strong relationships: develop and maintain positive working relationships with framework partners, customers and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting activity: work alongside the relevant teams to coordinate framework requirements as projects progress from initial opportunity and feasibility through preconstruction, delivery and completion.
- Keeping everything on track: apply your organisational skills to coordinate activities and reporting, monitor progress and ensure key actions, commitments and deadlines are met while maintaining data integrity.
- Driving collaboration: support business development, commercial, operational and project teams, ensuring effective communication and smooth handovers.
- Maintaining framework standards: help teams understand and follow framework processes, governance requirements and reporting obligations.
- Monitoring performance: maintain accurate project information, track performance, support forecasting and highlight areas requiring attention.
- Solving problems: identify risks, remove obstacles through collaboration and proactively support improvements to processes and customer outcomes.
- Supporting our customers: support customer meetings, project reviews and framework engagement activities, helping ensure we consistently deliver a professional and responsive service.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone who brings energy, enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, high standards and a genuine passion for working with people.
You don't necessarily need to have worked as a Framework Manager before. You could currently be a Project Manager, Client Relationship Manager, Account Manager, Programme Coordinator or someone in a similar role who enjoys managing relationships, coordinating activities and delivering results.
You'll ideally bring:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – approachable, engaging and comfortable building relationships with customers, senior stakeholders and operational teams.
- Outstanding organisational ability – someone who can manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple activities and maintain strong attention to detail.
- Drive and initiative – a self-starter who takes ownership, follows through on commitments and makes things happen.
- Strong stakeholder management skills – confident influencing others, managing expectations and bringing different teams together.
- A solutions-focused approach – someone who can anticipate challenges, use initiative and find practical ways forward.
- Adaptability and a willingness to learn – comfortable understanding new processes, navigating complex environments and developing knowledge of framework requirements.
We're open to candidates from outside the construction industry who can demonstrate the right transferable skills, attitude and ability to succeed.
