Framing Carpenter

Clark Modular Homes & Malley Construction is a licensed builder in the State of Michigan and has been in business and located in the Mount Pleasant area for over 30 years. Clarks specializes in Modular Home Construction, complete turn key projects and much more! Clark Modular Homes is accepting applications for a motivated Builders, Carpenters and Framing Specialists. Building experience a plus and/or knowledge of modular homes is beneficial.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Interprets building and structural plans to measure, mark, and arrange materials to established layout based on blueprints and/or direction from Superintendent

• Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects

• Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive.

• Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed

• Cuts and installs stairs and rafter sets

• Installs siding, deck and exterior trim

• Maintains a clean and safe work site

• Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines

• Help set Modular or Manufactured Homes

• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Experience:

• Proven skill in carpentry to include 1+ years’ experience in rough framing

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate with other team members, sub-contractors, suppliers and our clients in a kind, courteous, responsive, and professional manner

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, walk, climb, balance, and handle objects constantly
• Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of repetitive reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and crouching frequently
• Must be able to safely work from an elevated position of greater than 12 feet for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to push/pull/lift/carry up to 75 pounds frequently
• Must be able to properly care for and safely use tools of the trade, to include skill saw, miter saw, and jigsaw
• Must be able to work in a variety of seasonal conditions year-round in both indoor and outdoor environments where extreme heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust may be experienced
• Must have manual dexterity, excellent hand-eye coordination, and ability to hear mechanical sounds
• Must have excellent vision to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to follow verbal, visual, and written sources of information to receive and understand work direction
• Must be willing and able work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on time
• Must be able to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately
• Must be able to solve problems on the jobsite and be proactive in preventing them

Experience:

• carpentry: 1 year (Required)
• rough framing: 1 year (Required)

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
