Build a Franchise Business from the Ground Up

We are creating a premium Malaysian durian café, gastronomy, and lifestyle concept — with bold ambitions to expand into the China market.

We’re looking for a hands-on Franchise Lead / Specialist with the experience and entrepreneurial mindset to design and implement a scalable, commercially sustainable franchise model from scratch.

👉 This is not a conventional franchise sales role .

We want someone who truly understands the full franchise journey — what happens before, during, and after an outlet opens. From franchisee selection and store setup, to training, operations, quality, profitability, and continuous improvement — you’ll be the driving force behind building a franchise system that lasts.

What You Will Do

You will take the lead in developing and implementing the franchise ecosystem, including:

• Develop the overall franchise business model, package, fee, royalty and commercial structure
• Develop franchisee selection and qualification criteria
• Build the franchise operations model, SOPs and operating standards
• Develop the franchisee training programme and certification system
• Build the pre-opening and store launch process
• Develop site selection and store setup guidelines
• Establish standards for food quality, freshness, preparation and customer experience
• Work with culinary, supply chain, marketing, finance and technology teams to create an integrated franchise system
• Develop franchise audit, KPI and performance management systems
• Coach franchisees on sales, cost control, people management and outlet profitability
• Identify operational gaps and develop practical solutions to improve franchisee performance
• Support the development and rollout of the franchise model in China
• Continuously improve the franchise model as the business grows

What We Are Looking For

• You may be a strong fit if you have 5–10 years of relevant experience in:

F&B / café / QSR / hospitality

Franchise operations or franchise development

Retail chain or multi-outlet operations

Franchise training and development

Business operations / business development

• Experience with building or scaling a franchise system from scratch will be highly valued.
• Experience with China market expansion or Chinese F&B / retail operations is an advantage but is not mandatory.

More Important Than Your Job Title

We are looking for someone who can think beyond:

“How do we sell a franchise?”

and instead think:

“How do we build a franchise business where the franchisee can succeed, the customer receives a consistent experience, and the brand can scale sustainably?”

You should be comfortable moving between strategy and execution — from developing a franchise business model and financial assumptions to walking into a store and asking why food cost, service quality or customer satisfaction is below standard.

The Ideal Person

You are:

• Commercially minded – understand franchise economics, P&L and profitability.
• Operationally strong – know how to turn concepts into SOPs and repeatable systems.
• A great trainer and coach – able to transfer knowledge and build capable franchisees.
• Customer and quality focused – understand that consistency is critical to a premium food brand.
• Entrepreneurial and hands-on – comfortable building something new rather than simply maintaining an existing system.
• Analytical and practical – able to identify problems, find root causes and turn them into action.
