Fraud Analyst

Role Objective

The Fraud Analyst will assist in implementation of fraud prevention projects and will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of fraud risk management processes in terms of operational and analytical support for fraud prevention and mitigation and in fraud risk monitoring operations and initiatives/projects. The job holder will support in identification and assessment of all key fraud risks, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques.

Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities, as assigned by the Head of Fraud Risk Management, in compliance with local/ foreign regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
• Support the Senior Fraud Analyst in analyzing transactions, systems or activities to identify/ avoid fraudulent/suspicious activities based on information, or notice received from external parties.
• Provide analytical or operational support in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to assess new tools and/or products to enhance fraud risk prevention.
• Assist in the development of business plans and strategies to ensure a comprehensive fraud control environment within the Bank.
• Support in reporting on the current and emerging fraud risk patterns and trends promptly to relevant stakeholders in line with the established policies and procedures.
• Assist the Senior Fraud Analyst in assessing fraud risks across different business lines. Provide necessary operational and/or analytical support in identifying, and reporting on fraud risks, tracking implementation of corrective action.
• Contribute towards and perform cost effective and efficient fraud management operations, encompassing best practices in fraud management to protect the businesses reputation, revenues and operations.
• Assist in analyzing the process/ practice/procedure controls environment, as applicable, to lessen the fraud risk exposure within the approved risk appetite.
• Assist the Senior Fraud Analyst in formulating and implementing fraud risk awareness and training within the Bank.
• Coordinate all fraud Investigation activities with timely employment of initial responses and track remediation efforts in terms of control / process enhancements against the fraud incidents / events.
• Contribute towards the implementation of systems / tools for bank-wide fraud risk management, ensuring enterprise requirements are met.
• Continuously research and report on advanced fraud risk management techniques and methodologies for leading new initiatives.
• Update self on and provide awareness of assurance reporting and new trends in relation to Fraud Risk, to the team.
• Identify and report on opportunities/standards to improve Anti-Fraud controls and reduce impact / likelihood of Fraud risk.
• Assess and identify means to mitigate emerging fraud risks, including those related to new products, regulatory requirements or significant processes.

Educational Qualifications and Experience:

• University graduate with a degree in Business or Banking or Finance or any other related discipline.
• Master’s degree in related discipline will be an added advantage.
• 05-08 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline.
• Experience in fraud investigation & fraud risk management within financial services industry.
• Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in Qatar.
