What they need
- Monitor customer transactions, orders, accounts, and payment activities for suspicious or potentially fraudulent behavior.
- Review and investigate fraud alerts, chargebacks, payment disputes, and unusual transaction patterns.
- Conduct detailed investigations using customer information, transaction history, payment data, and available fraud-prevention tools.
- Identify indicators of fraud, including stolen payment methods, account takeovers, unusual purchasing behavior, and suspicious account activity.
- Approve, decline, or escalate transactions based on established fraud-risk procedures.
- Communicate with customers when additional verification or information is required.
- Work closely with Customer Support, Payments, Finance, IT, and other teams to resolve fraud-related cases.
- Document investigation findings, decisions, and actions accurately and consistently.
- Monitor emerging fraud trends and recommend improvements to fraud-prevention processes.
- Assist in analyzing chargeback and fraud-loss data to identify recurring issues and opportunities for prevention.
- Follow company policies, payment-provider requirements, and applicable data-protection and security procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive customer and payment information.
- Escalate complex, high-risk, or potentially organized fraud cases to the appropriate management team.
